BRIDGING ART & TECHNOLOGY – SPATIAL DESIGN &
PROJECT LEADERSHIP AT TEAMLAB
ROLE | CATALYST (CREATIVE STRATEGIST & PROJECT LEAD)
CLIENT | TEAMLAB AND TEAMLAB KIDS

As a Catalyst at teamLab Kids, I functioned as both project lead and spatial designer for interactive installations that engaged 500K+ annual visitors globally. teamLab is an international art collective that creates physical interactive experiences through digital products, AR, and VR—blending technology and art to produce new forms of entertainment focused on creative and active learning.
-
Spatial & Experience Design: Designed VR/AR spaces and interactive installations, creating immersive learning environments for children that encouraged exploration and play.
-
Project Leadership: Managed and launched major installations including Officine Grandi Riparazioni (Italy) and DoSeum (Texas), coordinating cross-functional teams of designers, engineers, technologists, and artists.
-
Global Collaboration: Worked across teams in Japan, Dubai, and Hungary, managing budgets, timelines, and stakeholder communications for international projects.
-
Technical Implementation: Installed software programs and adjusted machines for digital, AR, and VR products, ensuring technical feasibility aligned with creative vision.

GOAL | teamLab Kids needed to create interactive installations that transformed passive observation into active learning. The challenge was designing spatial experiences that worked seamlessly across different cultural contexts, physical environments, and age groups—balancing artistic vision with technical constraints and safety requirements. Each installation needed to be intuitive enough for young children yet sophisticated enough to engage families and educators.
IMPACT | Successfully launched multiple international installations engaging 500K+ visitors annually across global museum and cultural spaces. Managed complex, multi-stakeholder projects from concept through installation, ensuring creative vision translated into functional, safe, and engaging physical experiences. Coordinated creative collaborations between artists, engineers, and external vendors, bridging technical and creative languages to deliver cohesive storytelling experiences. Pitched and secured major client partnerships through strategic proposals and stakeholder management.
WHAT I LEARNED | Working at teamLab taught me to design at the intersection of digital and physical, where user experience extends beyond screens into spatial environments. I learned to collaborate across disciplines—translating between artists, engineers, and technologists who each spoke different creative languages. Managing global projects across Japan, Dubai, and Hungary taught me to adapt designs for different cultural contexts and site-specific constraints. Most importantly, I learned that the best interactive experiences are invisible: the technology should disappear, leaving only wonder and engagement. Watching children naturally navigate spaces we designed—without instructions, without hesitation—taught me that intuitive design transcends language
and age.
