KakaoTalk is a messaging and video calling app with more than 150 million users worldwide. As an independent project, I submitted 32 PNG images of emoticon illustrations, and am waiting on potential submission acceptance onto this worldwide platform. One of the most unique feature of KakaoTalk as a messaging platform is the diverse collection of expressive and fun emoticon characters users can use to express their personalities. KakaoTalk emoticons are more like characters because they are relatable, humorous, and connect with users to use specific expressions.  In my submission, I wanted to connect with all the "bread lovers". In Korea, there is a term for a female bread lover and a male bread lover - "Bbang soo nee" and "Bbang dori". With this in mind, I decided to create these characters to express the love for bread, using the Korean word for "bread" - "Bbang" as pun expression in each illustration. For the first edition for my "Bbang - bread" series is on the "Salt Bread" - a specific type of bread that is popular in Korea and Japan.
